I'm Still Alive I Promise!

It has been one crazy month. After two weeks in the hospital on bed rest, my body decided that it could no longer be pregnant. Katherine Grace made her appearance on July 9th at 1:49 pm via emergency C-section, weighing in at 5 lbs 10 oz and 18.5 inches long. She was perfectly healthy and was able to stay with me in my room after the first harrowing night that I had. I was not perfectly healthy but, I am now.

Katherine has been doing great and made it over 6 lbs by her 2 week appointment! C has been having some adjustment issues but, we're working on it.

I've been working on recovering and taking care of 2 children under 2 so, that's why I have been MIA. I'm still here, I promise and soon we'll be back in the swing of things! And in the meantime, if you have any suggestions on how to make C feel more included and better about his role as big brother please let me know!

  1. Oh...I am so happy for you, that is simply wonderful!! I am sure she is beautiful...C will adjust eventually, but i always made sure that when the baby went down for a nap, that I made one on one time with them...reading a book, eating a snack together, or just snuggle!! So happy to hear from you and that all is well!! Thought of you often!!

  4. Im a mother of a 2 year old son with a daughter on the way - due in 3 weeks... as for getting your son more involved with the baby have you been getting him to help out? i know if you could let him make a bottle or change her that would be great... but have you let him pick which bottle to use, and hand you diapers and bum cream? it would be great for his self-confidence. and maybe while the baby is sleeping after being fed you guys could have a little mommy son time - get a sticker book and do the activities inside, its great for his brain; plus its quiet.
hope that gives you some ideas.
